Phil Calkins is an audience favorite everywhere he entertains from the moment he fires up his acoustic twelve string guitar and raises his powerful tenor voice. The song selection is memorable, if not unforgettable, as Phil chooses his set list creatively from some of the most well-loved pop, country and rock music. Everyone is singing along and frequently couples are dancing to his music. Rosewood is once again fortunate to have guitarist, singer, songwriter and recording artist Phil Calkins performing for Sunset On The Patio at Rosewood!

Mark Gretch & Jen

Mark and Gretch Hladish have written, recorded and performed music together since they met in 2004. From the beginning they branded their unique performances producing masterfully crafted studio tracks to accompany some of the most loved popular music in a wide variety of genres. They have performed thousands of shows to enthusiastic audiences around the country and in their own theatre in Delavan Wisconsin.

Most recently, they have invited Jennifer Mitchell to complete their vocal group. Jennifer studied Musical Theater at Chicago College of Performing Arts. After graduating Jennifer pursued an active professional performing career that has led her to a full-time position as an event specialist and artist in residence with Rosewood. 

Desperate Bastards Acoustic Trio

With Rob Anderlik (dobro slide guitar) Phil Roach (violin) and Mike Church (guitar) – this Chicago based group is Steeped in Bluegrass, Blues and American Roots Music, The DB's bring an energy and love for improvisation and tradition bound with modern edges. Their bag is deep, drawing from old standards, classic rock tunes, swampy blues, traditional fiddle tunes as well as original compositions. The music is as contagious and exciting as it is organic and spontaneous. The Rosewood Audience has grown to love these guys as regulars each season of SUNSET ON THE PATIO!

D'Lite

When one mentions D’LITE in the Lake Geneva resort community, it is difficult to find anyone who hasn’t heard one of their incredible performances. There is hardly a venue or festival that hasn’t featured them. The scope of an evening playlist can include almost any popular music genre including classic 80’s and 90’s dance songs, to R&B, Country and the most contemporary songs of the day. Dawn Soto is an amazing musician, playing sax, keyboards and brilliantly covering female vocals for the duo. Dan Blitz is an equally talented vocalist and guitar player. D’LITE covers a wide range of the most challenging popular music with uncommon musical skill and accuracy. Rosewood is delighted to share a regional musical treasure with our SUNSET ON THE PATIO audience.

Big Al & Jimbo

Allen Wetzel is a published singer/song-writer, accomplished multi-instrumentalist, and live performance veteran who is perfectly at home on any stage.

Having always had the itch to form his own band, Wetzel relocated to South-Eastern Wisconsin in 2008 and teamed up with the extraordinary guitar and vocal talents of like-minded musician Jim Ryan to form “The Big Al Wetzel Band”. Wetzel and Ryan initially honed their show as an acoustic duo, but when the phone began ringing off the hook for larger events, they eventually enlisted a most venerable rhythm section of S.E. Wisconsin music scene stalwarts – Geoff Howard (bass and vocals) and Tim Rush (drums and vocals).

Drawing from fan favorites of every genre (including Rock/Country/Pop/Blues/Funk/Reggae to name a few), the Big Al Wetzel Band delivers a jaw dropping spectrum of first class live music for high end events large and small throughout the Chicago Tri State area and beyond.

Claire Kelly

This girl is on a mission to brighten every corner she steps in with honest lyrics and lively melodies. Her voice and folk/pop style have often been compared to Ingrid Michaelson and Nora Jones. Over the years, Claire has had the privilege to open for Anderson East, Lee Dewyze, William Becket of The Academy Is, The Ballroom Thieves and Tall Heights. She just completed a Midwest tour playing everything from intimate living room concerts to critically acclaimed festivals. Her latest project, Don’t Quit Your Daydream, speaks to Claire’s strong ability as a songwriter. It’s a variety of styles showcasing collaborations she’s been working on in Nashville this past year.

Kevin Andrew Prchal

Kevin Andrew Prchal is a Chicago-area musician, singer and songwriter – his voice is strong, unapologetic and deeply emotive. He drives his songwriting and performances with broad and rich strokes of an acoustic guitar and has crafted 4 brilliantly produced recordings titled, EAT SHIRT & TIE / SORROW SINGS / LOVE & SUMMER – his latest offering being UNKNOWING. Kevin is both a poet and a troubadour in the order of Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan – in the tradition of great American Folk Music, he writes and performs music that reflects on life, love and the human experience and has made a meaningful connection with Rosewood’s Audiences each time he gifts us with his music.

Corner Boys

Dave Kunzweiler, Paul Hilderbrand and Michael Rothstein, aka Corner Boys, together bring their lifelong passion for music to the stage. The name Corner Boys comes from an east coast tradition of late night harmonies sung on the street corner.

Not your typical acoustic cover band, the Corner Boy’s playlist runs from Lyle Lovett, to Michael Jackson to the wonderful Kris Nichols. The attention to detail, dynamics and nuance makes for an evening of fabulous music. Our goal is to touch people with our music and to share the joy that we get from our art.

Ken Curtis chooses his music from the mixtape you still have in your desk drawer… you know the one with all the favorite songs of your lifetime! These are the songs you always sing along to in the car when you roll down the windows and want to announce it to the neighborhood. Ken blends his rhythmic guitar playing and the purity of his voice to remind you why these melodies still matter to us all. From his Live From The Loft videos, to the stages of clubs, wineries and concerts – Ken returns to Rosewood’s Sunset On The Patio again in 2022.

Jennifer Mitchell

This is Jen's second year singing at Sunset on the Patio, and she is thrilled to be coming back as a headliner! A singer/songwriter, hailing from her Alma Mater, The Chicago College of Performing Arts, she brings her passion for storytelling into her music and performances. Inspired by Carole King, Sara Bareilles, and Norah Jones, her music is a soulful melody that will wrap around your heart and soul. Starting out her career by going to school for Musical Theatre, she quickly found her voice in writing music for herself and others. Working on projects in the Chicagoland area as a Composer/Music Music Director, Jen has also traveled around the country to work at Theme Parks and Regional Theatres. Hannah Sattler

Hannah Sattler has been singing and making music since she was just a child. We became aware of her vocal talents while strolling through the park at the Walworth County Fair as she competed in a regional talent show there. Even at that age she was extraordinary and had a firm grasp on how to entertain an audience. Her musical abilities and her voice have only continued to mature and develop into the wonderful performer she is today! In 2020 Hannah was on American Idol all the way to Hollywood, just falling short of the top 40 contestants. Rosewood’s Sunset On The Patio is blessed to share our dear friend and her musical gifts with you!

Cassandra Vohs-Demann

Cassandra has been performing professionally for over 25 years. She is a trained vocalist, writer, coach, actress, and an accomplished songwriter. She loves to use her musical gifts to bring people together and build community. Always a performer at heart, she is thrilled to be back singing regularly after a long hiatus. Come enjoy an evening of her original music and original arrangements of cover songs by artists she loves. Cassandra’s powerful vocals have been compared to Stevie Nicks, Brandi Carlile, Melissa Etheridge and Bonnie Raitt, just to name a few. 

Harlan Jefferson

Influenced by blues, jazz, R&B, gospel, and hip hop and instructed by his father A.Z. Jefferson, Jr., Harlan began performing at the age of 10. By the time he was in junior high school and active in bands, he became known locally as the “National Anthem Player,” performing at college, semi- and pro-ball games from Rockford and Chicago up to Milwaukee, Wis., including suburban areas.

A rapper/dj-turned-saxophonist, his reputation came full circle in 2006 with the release of the single “The Chicago Bears Anthem.” Written by Swade, Harlan Jefferson executive produced and promoted the ultra modern rap-with-class that was played in Chicago at one of the Bears games. The track was quickly picked up by DJs, who played it in the streets, in clubs, on the Internet, and on television stations and music and sports radio stations in Rockford, Chicago, and Indiana.
